It is important to listen and understands other persons view
point. Understand the other person’s perspective well then you it is better to
react. Here is an example. One day a man called the doctor and told him, that
his wife has a stomach pain and she needs an appendicitis operation. The doctor
responded:-
- I don’t want to listen to you since you just have to give an aspirin tablet to her, not an operation.
- He responded doctor you are not listening. Doctor responded I don’t want to listen to you since I operated her appendicitis just one month back and no operation is required.
- He responded doctor you are not listening. Doctor responded I don’t want to listen to you since once an appendicitis is removed it never comes back.
- He responded doctor you are not listening. Doctor responded I don’t want to listen to you, since if it comes back ever, it will never come back in one month.
He responded doctor you are not listening. The operation is
not for my first wife but for my SECOND wife. Doctor realized his mistake and realized the importance of being a patient listener.
It is important to listen always well before you react and
understand the perspective. Listening is key.
